An old warehouse in San Antonio was subjected a severe windstorm and experienced an unexpected result. A masonry wall just a few feet away from an adjacent building broke free from the upper wall connections and started to collapse. Although the movement was stopped as the wall hit the adjacent building, the wall wasn't salvageable. An analysis showed that the replacement wall could not be built like the original because of Building Code issues. We offered repair recommendations to restore the wall system.
