  • Concrete pan-joist construction at bottom five levels
  • Composite steel construction at upper patient floors
  • 21’-0 Cantilevered floors at three bays at south end
  • Utility and service tunnels below street, linking new hospital with the CUP building
  • New two-level curved L-shaped bridge linking new hospital tower to the existing Heart Hospital building
  • Structural systems used were cast-in-place concrete, wide module pan joist, one-way concrete flat slabs, composite steel floor, multi-story steel trusses, steel beam and steel roof joist with lateral systems being concrete shear walls, diagonal steel bracing and steel moment frames.
  • Foundation systems were cast-in-place concrete grade beams, concrete basement walls, spread footing and drilled piers/caissons.
