Swimming Pool - Distress Investigation

Details

TSA was contacted by a pool owner with an unfortunate problem. They wanted to have a nice pool, but they didn't want any problems. So, they paid extra to have piers placed under the pool as a further measure to avoid a problem. Unfortunately, the contractor installing the pool didn't follow the design drawings. Portions of the pool shell were much thinner than specified and the reinforcing steel in some areas was actually in the dirt below the concrete shell. It would seem obvious to most, but reinforcing steel doesn't do any good if it isn't in the concrete.

TSA has the capability to investigate pool distress using analytic, non-destructive, and destructive means. Depending on the type of distress, we can recommend an investigation to determine the apparent cause of distress.
