A fire in a strip center caused extreme heat, burning the entire inside of a lease space. We were asked to figure out how much structural damage was present and determine how to fix the building. The heat from the fire caused the metal roof deck and the open-web steel joists to warp and buckle. We reviewed the damage and developed a repair design using visual observation, ultrasonic testing, and structural analysis.
