Hurricane Damage - Office/Warehouse/Storage Complex

Details

Soon after Hurricane Ike, we were called to investigate three collapsed walls at a 17-building complex covering over 300,000 square feet. At the request of our client, the investigation was later expanded to include a determination of the extent and severity of hurricane-related damage throughout the complex.

Our services included:

Meeting with the property manager and their consultant to understand the extent of reported damage
Documentation of the condition of the exterior of the complex
Development of a testing protocol to establish the capacity of the masonry system
Designating areas for sample removal and preparing samples for physical testing of wall system components by a third-parting testing laboratory
Review of historical and current building codes to determine code compliance
Review of proposed repairs
Analysis of various structural elements
Preparation of reports.
