Following an extended period of water leakage, TSA was contacted after soil heave rendered this office floor unusable. The proposed repair was complicated because a fire exit blocked the loading dock door adjacent to the distressed floor and all other points of access would have had the repair work in the middle of an active office. TSA was retained to design modifications to the fire exit as well as provide options for limiting the potential for continued soil movement and foundation damage. The client decided to use a stiffened slab system for the repair area to limit the localized nature of the distress.
TSA prepared repair documents and performed construction administration.
