Car Impact Into Building

Details

TSA was contacted after a car ran into the side of a building damaging a wall. No building drawings were available, so we documented existing conditions. An analysis was then performed to determine whether the wall complied with current building code since repairs are required to comply with the current building code. It was determined that the walls were not compliant; a modified design was prepared that provided the required structural capacity. The new design included grout (concrete) and reinforcing steel inside the concrete blocks to increase the capacity, along with an improved connection between the wall and roof structure.
