Building Fire

Details

After fire struck a pre-engineered metal building housing construction equipment that was being repaired, we were contacted to assess the damage. The intense heat caused damage to the siding, roof decking, Z-purlins, and concrete slab-on-ground. During our initial assessment, we considered the condition of the structure and equipment housed inside the building to evaluate the areas with the highest probability of structurally significant damage. We later used a mechanical lift to observe the structure, note damaged members, and outline the repair limits. Using ultrasonic testing equipment, we determined the sizes of the existing framing members, and designed appropriate repairs.
