We were contacted by a roofing consultant to provide assistance in evaluating damage to an apartment building that experienced severe distress during Hurricane Ike. The building was an old-style apartment with a flat roof system. The roof system connections to the walls completely failed in some locations, allowing major water damage to most of the building. The complex also experienced brick wall tie failure, which allowed collapse of some of the brick masonry walls. We performed an assessment of the extent and severity of damage and prepared a report documenting the damage. We prepared a preliminary repair plan to allow pricing of the repair work.
